Do not store things that you don’t need
I am sure
that some places of your house can be named as “what if I will need this some day” or “I can’t throw it away, it reminds me…” Minimize such places and items in your life. It would be great if you totally get rid of them.
Psychologists and Feng Shui specialists will tell you that you should throw this stuff away, and both specialists are right. These items just stop free movement for good energy and your life. You try to catch the time that past long ago. But you should live further and just take good memories about the past. I also love such useless things, but I left just the most special for me.
Let’s go back to the topic. Why do you think our parents insisted on cleaning our rooms? Imagine, you came home after the ordinary working day. On the way home, you think about hunger, shower and all work that you need to do at home. But when you came home, you see clean house, almost every corner is cleaned, tasty food is on the table and now you feel…energy! Now positive and light mood is with you. Maybe you didn’t know, but your intuition tells you that cleaning the house is good for you. Intuition gives you signals and also gives your personal Feng Shui life tips. It doesn’t mean that you need to throw away all that you don’t use, but tell the truth to yourself…you don’t need half of this stuff for sure.

Don’t sit and sleep if a corner of the house or wall is facing you
Corners – are pointing bad energy to you. The best you can do is placing a plant or other object that will at least partly close this corner. If you can’t imagine what is better to use in this case, just ask. Be creative)

Be very careful with mirrors
If they will be in your bedroom – it is not a favorable sign. Don’t place the mirror
near you bed, because it will duplicate your relations. Another beloved person can appear between you and your love. (I will tell you more specific examples about mirrors and Feng Shui symbols in next articles.)

Energy comes through windows and doors, so they should always be clean
Don’t place mirror opposite the entrance door, because good energy will be reflected and won’t come to your house.
Feng Shui is like an art. You can know nothing about Feng Shui rules and advices, but you can feel what others should learn. Your intuition is Feng Shui. All you feel good about your house is good Feng Shui, even if it might be not ideal according to Feng Shui studies.

- Always seek clean lines and open spaces. Try to keep your new home free of clutter and debris.

- Listen closely to your instincts. What room arrangements make you feel most comfortable?

- Fill your new home with love and light. Honor it with a celebration.

Get Rid of the Clutter
One of the quickest ways to create positive energy in your home is to declutter every nook and cranny.
Clutter, as described by feng shui theory, blocks the flow of Qi in your home. A big part of feng shui is creating a constant flowing energy (Qi) throughout each room.
Don’t look at clearing the clutter out of your house as a dreaded chore.
The clutter around you actually equates to a cluttered feelings in your head.
Think of it this way. As you remove the clutter from your home, you’re clearing out the distracting throughts from your mind.
This very important feng shui step will actually relax your thoughts in a very subconscious way. This has been proven through many studies.
I’m sure just like everyone else, you’ve got that one junk drawer that you just throw pencils, scissors, mail or papers into. It’s disorganized and you simply haven’t gotten to cleaning it up. Take the time to organize this clutter culprit and you’ll
ease the subconscious stress that this superficial chaos can create.
I know how overwhelming this step can feel.
I myself used to be quite a packrat. It’s no wonder I could never relax in my home before implementing traditional feng shui rules. There would always be something to clean up or push off to another day.
The real trick to decluttering your home is not to look at it as one huge task. Instead, take 5 minutes a day to get rid of a little trash or organize these areas in your home.
Taking baby steps towards decluttering will organize your house in no time.
One of the most challenging aspects to this might be cleaning up your closet that’s full of clothes you don’t wear anymore.
I know how attached you can get to old clothes. Often it feels like they’re too meaningful to give away.
A nice simple rule of thumb when
getting rid of your “clothing clutter” is this…
If you haven’t worn an article of clothing for a year and you don’t see an exact moment in the near future where you’ll be wearing it,
give it away.
There are tons of clothing drop-offs for shelters,veterans or the homeless. These people would truly benefit from your contribution and
you can feel good about helping those that are in need.
Hanging Mirrors Correctly
Mirrors have an important part in the practice of feng shui. They are thought of as substitutes to the reflection of water.
So, how does this affect the positive energy in your home?
The placement of mirrors in different parts of your home is thought to double the energy of focal points in a room as well as repel negative or unharmonious components in a room.
For example, using traditional feng shui rules, it is customary to place a mirror on the opposing wall in the entranceway of your home to repel negative energy from entering your home (reflecting it back out the door).
Now you know why you often see so many homes with mirrors in the foyer. The owners, whether they know it or not, are practicing this very rule.
A big mistake people make when hanging mirrors in their home is hanging them across from their bed. It is said that the reflection may bring about feelings of infidelity.
There are other reasons as well. The image of yourself in the mirror caught out of the corner of your sleepy eye could produce a feeling of unease. The reflection can bring about anxiety of an intruder or general insecurity in your home.
You should also never have a mirror reflect a door (except for the very front entranceway door). Mirrors that reflect doors in a room will block the Qi from flowing freely.
So, what are some good places to hang mirrors?
Mirrors should be hung at the end of hallways in the home, giving the illusion of the hallway carrying on.
Mirrors should be used to reflect plants in the home, elements that represent weatlth and the heating elements in your home, like a fireplace or candles.
The proper use of mirrors will truly add a zen-like feel to your home.
The Power of Plants
Plants play a key role in the traditional feng shui rules. Wooded plants in particular are encouraged.
If you have a home office, you should try to add a couple of plants to the east, south or south-east corners of the room to bring career and business luck into your life.
Traditional feng shui rules also dictate that flowers and plants should be avoided in the bedroom for couples who are looking to have children. Instead, try placing a bowl of decorative fruit (pomegranites are recommended) in the bedroom to encourage fertility and sexual health.
Thorny plants should not be displayed inside the home but are certainly allowed outside as in the case with roses. Actually, having thorny plants outside in your garden or front porch area is thought to create a protective shield from outside negative energy entering your home.
Fresh flowers provide a welcoming energy in your home and will bring good fortune. However, once flowers die, throw them out immediately. Dried plants and flowers can check the flow of Qi through a room, bringing about unfavorable surroundings.
Fruit is given a great deal of emphasis not only in the bedroom, but also in the entranceway of your home. Lemons and Oranges are symbols of good fortune and can ward off negative energy from your home. Perhaps you can incorporate this into a decorative arrangement on your credenza in the entranceway of your home.
Just Add Water
Feng shui literally translates to “Wind Water”. After learning this, it’s easy to imagine that water plays an intricate part in its practice.
As you’ve undoubtedly learned from this website already, water has a calming effect on those around it.
Many psychologists believe that this induced state of calm can be linked to a subconscious association with being in our mother’s womb.
Whatever theory you believe, with the exception of those who get seasick or have an inexplicable fear of water, the rippling sound of waves is indeed relaxing.
Traditional feng shui rules follow this belief as well. For this reason, it’s essential that you have some kind of installation of water in your home.
This could be as simple as a fish tank, a small plug-in fountain or something more grandiose like a koi pond or waterfall in your backyard.
However you decide to incorporate water into your home, make it practical and something the whole family can enjoy.
While we’re on the subject of water, the traditional feng shui rules recommend that if you do have a fish tank, make sure there is one black fish in the tank. This is a symbol of good fortune for any home.
Lucky Animal Statues
Numerous animals are considered fortuitous to your well-being according to traditional feng shui rules.
According to feng shui, these animals and mythical creature bring both money and good fortune to those they surround.
- Dragon: Dragons symbolize power and good fortune. In particular they benefit your family’s health.
- Three-Legged Frog: These statues depict a three-legged toad. The frog is usually shown sitting on a pile of gold coins. It is especially helpful in achieving wealth energy. Many business owners will place these statues next to a cash register.
- Fu Dogs: These dogs resemble stylized lions and they symbolize prestige and power. They usually come in pairs, one stationed on either side of doorways for protection. Personally, I find these to be a little over the top but traditional rules of feng shui hold these statues in high regard.
- Bat: The traditional feng shui rules consider bats to be harbingers of happiness and good fortune. A pair of bats bring double happiness. However, I wouldn’t recommend giving a pair of bats as a wedding gift!
- Crane: Cranes are symbolic of long life and wisdom.
- Fish: Carp swim upstream, so they represent success and perseverance, but all fish are considered lucky for abundance and money. This is another reason why fish tanks or Koi ponds are recommended to encourage prosperity.
- Phoenix: This magical, mythical creature who rises from the ashes symbolizes peace and blessings. If you were born in a Phoenix year, it is especially lucky.

Make a habit of checking your feng shui money area often. The goal of your feng shui for money decorating efforts is to create a space that expresses the feng shui wealth and money energy. Be very specific in your feng shui money decorating cures.

In feng shui the area connected to your money, or financial prosperity and abundance, is the Southeast area of your home or office.
In order to correctly define the
feng shui money area and strengthen the wealth energy, your need to know the
Bagua, or the feng shui energy map of your space.
The feng shui element of the Southeast area is Wood, so be mindful about not placing Metal or Fire element objects and
colors in your feng shui money area.
In the destructive cycle of the five feng shui elements Metal cuts the Wood and Fire burns the Wood. As your focus is to strengthen the Wood
feng shui element energy of the Money area, it is best to avoid the elements that weaken the Wood.
To encourage a good
energy flow in your money area (Southeast feng shui bagua area) and strengthen the energy of money and
wealth, follow the simple feng shui money tips below.
You can strengthen the Wood feng shui element of the Money area with:
- Healthy, lush green plants
